Servicing and calibration of Freeness Testers (CSF)

Calibration of a Canadian Standard Freeness (CSF) tester is essential to ensure precise and repeatable pulp drainage measurements. The procedure verifies the drainage chamber geometry, screen plate condition, and bottom and side orifice flow characteristics.

Freeness Tester Calibration

At LabTech, proper calibration includes thorough cleaning, detailed inspection of critical components (screen plate, bottom and side orifices), confirmation that the spreader cone is correctly installed and secure, and validation of water flow rates to confirm compliance with specified tolerances. Recalibration is recommended at minimum every three years, depending on usage and application severity.  In accordance with ISO 5267-2, TAPPI T227, and PAPTAC C.1.

Replacement components are maintained in stock should refurbishment or corrective action be required.
